Verticutting, historically only available through expensive professional equipment, is now available for the keen gardener and small business alike.

The benefits of verticutting include:

• Thickening of the lawn through the encouragement of new growth
• Removal of debris from the lawn and prevention of thatch build up
• Control of weed grasses, such as POA annua, which grow horizontally

A further benefit of of verticutting, using a 4-wheel equipment configuration, is that the verticut grass is not immediately flattened by a heavy roller, leaving any weed grass seed-heads ready for subsequent cutting and bagging.
